Messenger download error504
 

HI I HAD TO RESET MY TABLET SAMSUNG TAB4 GALAXY. I HAVE BEEN DOWNLOADING APPS. I'M HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MESSENGER. IT DOWNLOADS BUT WON'T INSTALL. I TRIED EVERYTHING IT SUGGESTS DIDN'T WORK. ALSO ERROR KEEPS POPPING UP #504.
CAN YOU HELP WITH THIS.

Error 504 is a Gateway timeout error, ie the two ends are not talking to each other fast enough.

Sounds like you are only downloaded part of app that you are installing and a timeout is occurring when it goes looking for the rest.

I'd be trying to install it from a different site, if I could find one.

Googling hits a lot of fix ideas.

Go to Settings >> Apps >> All >> Tap on “Google Play Store”
Tap “Force Stop” and “Clear Data”

I did what you said when I press install this comes up. This app will be installed on your device soon. I don't get it. Never ever had this problem downloading messenger before. It installed on my phone no problem.

I have to ask. Did you try that tip where you put the tablet into airplane mode, then shut it off? I'm assuming that resets the internet connections.
