Internet speed
well u see I got this problem where after I start my computer...after a while the connection speed starts to fall dramatically...coming to a point where I cannot even buffer a simple youtube video.
got a pretty new lap Acer Aspire 5920 Vista home I live in student halls...(but I dont think this is the problem of the speed since I started experiencing it long after I got here)maybe it can be a software problem but I simply do not want to format it since I will be having some major programs lost like windows office. Even checking the Vista monitoring(I dont know exactly the name since I use foreign language) I can see that my system seems to be improving in performance since back days(something I dont really experience) If you can help in any way just to find the problem I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks for taking the time. |
What browser are you using? Did you try different one?
Post some computer info: processor type, amount of RAM, hard drive size/free space |
should the problem lie in mozilla firefox's new updated version 3.0.3??? I havent really tried another browser since mozilla seemed faster than all others but I'll give it a try.

you state before in student halls? |
well Mr.strjms72 I was hoping to keep my definition of problem short but I may need to expand on that. I arrived at student halls a month ago...At first I did not experience problem with my connection speed(and to think that at first almost everyone were home sitting on their coms) and beside that even if the connection is divided I think many others would experience the same problem, get fed up with the slow buffering speed and just dc thus emproving others speed. But the speed was not changing a bit. Ok it may be a problem with the halls but maybe not and in that case this is the reason I asked help from this forum(again)...
btw I reinstalled modem and lan drivers on my laptop. But I havent tried it that much yet to tell the difference. |
Download, and install TCP Optimizer: http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php
Open it, and put a checkmark in Optimal Settings. Click Apply changes button. Restart computer, and see if it helped. |
unfortunatelly...havent helped...
|
no need to break our heads over this anymore...I restored to factory setting...(reinstalled vista on C:) and the problem is sovled...seems that something was deleted by mistake...
