KERNEL_DATA_ERROR (ataport.SYS)
Woke up this morning to a blue screen with this error KERNEL_DATA_ERROR (ataport.SYS)
kuzzz Dell All-IN-ONE 8.1 64bit 4gig ram |
Howdy kuzzz.
Did you get that error this one time only, or has it repeated? |
Hi Jintan
Just the one time |
I'd suggest just keep using it, and we can chat if it happens again.
|
ok
Thanks kuzzz |
Memory corruption caused by a disk controller error.
I would test the memory, download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes. Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot. Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots. And go to the mfrs site download the diax tester and run it. |
