Requiring Password/PIN at Logon?
Good Evening!
I am still running Windows 8.1 on my Lenovo AIO; Once upon a time, the computer used to require a PIN / password upon startup. Now, I am automatically logged into my Windows account without such prompting. I'm not able to locate a way to turn this option back on...I can lock it, and there's a "require upon wake from sleep" option, but how did it stop in the first place, and what can I do to go back to the prior state of affairs? Frankly I don't think I really even need to be logged into my Windows account 24/7 on this machine, so maybe that's a key? I'm not sure. Sorry for asking for help on what would appear to be an ancient OS by today's standards! Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks so much! |

Thanks for sharing!
Unfortunately, what appears to happen is that I'm only being prompted for the PIN if I physically lock the computer while it is still powered on. I used to receive the prompt when I booted it up, but that doesn't happen anymore. That's what I want to occur, but I'm not sure how to revert back to that option. |

Officially from Microsoft:
How it is enabled: https://support.microsoft.com/en-nz/...gon-in-windows Technically, you can just reverse that process to disable it, but if registry editing is daunting for you, use the linked sysinternals tool to set it to "disable": https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sys...oads/autologon |
