Cleaning up my system from The Evils of Popups and other said crappola...

Greetings all,

As my subject line states, I am trying to clean up my system. I have read through some of the threads here and I have found them quite informative and very useful. However, there are a couple of things I cannot seem to get rid of.

#1 New.net or NewDotNet or "the darn thing that will not DIE!!!!"

I have Spybot search and destroy but I cannot get rid of this darn thing. It does not list in my Add/Remove programs list, and I cannot search the darn thing out on my own. So I cannot figure out a way to uninstall the thing. Bothersome.

#2 Redswoosh

Now this thing does list itself in my add/remove list. But I am not sure what it is, or if it is safe to get rid of it. Is it? What is it? Is Nike somehow an evil internet spyware brotherhood? Hmmmmm.

Also, I get 2 common hijacker things in Spybot also. One from Verisign and one from MSN itself...I dont think these are doing anything but they do list them as spyware.

I am running Windows XP right now, and as I said I have Spybot Search and Destroy. I am also a Sagittarious and my favorite color is green...not that that matters...

Any help would be super duper....

RedSwoosh is crapware.
Download and run HiJack This (see instructions/download link in the CyberSafety forum up above) and post a log.

Can't help much with the 'green' problem, tho.

Oh yeah, here's the 'official' word on New.Net removal.
