CPU at 100% with many processes running
 

Hello all. I have been lurking for a time and decided to register when I found my cpu running 100% while trying to work with video files earlier today. I use ADS Instant DVD USB 2.0 with Ulead VideoStudio 7 and other movie editing programs. I use Capwiz to capture the video.

I have a Sony Vaio desktop 3.0 Ghz, running XP 1 (I have not DL SP2 yet), 512 Mb memory and ATI Radeon 9200 vid card.


Anyway, Capwiz began to freeze while video was being captured from a VCR. It freezes sometime during the first 45 minutes. While trying to load video files VideoStudio also freezes or takes forever to load a 2.5 Gb video file. These have been no real problem until now.

I began to think that perhaps I am running out of memory or the cpu was being maxed out. I checked my processes running and looked up a few. I decided to run Hijack this and copy the log file here to see if you guys think my processes are OK or not.

Please let me know if I have any spyware or anything running that doesn't really need to be running that is consuming resources. I appreciate any help in advance. Here is the log from Hijack this:

Just a minor cleanup here, but no malware that would cause your problem.Have you tried running Adaware ans SpyBot.

Although it has its problems, I recommend downloading SP2 if you can spare the hard drive space. Probably won't solve your problem, but it could very well prevent more from arising.
