Replacing laptop screen?

My sister's laptop screen got shut on something and cracked. Can the screen be replaced by a repair place like Geek Squad or something? Or is it more cost effective to buy a new laptop? I've never researched this so that's why i'm asking here.

The laptop is a Lenovo 300e
Model: 81FY
Mfg Date: 2015

Thanks in advance guys.

the screen can be repaired. it could be expensive though - especially if the geek squad gets a hold of it. does the laptop still work with an external monitor?

So i got some more information. She can still use the laptop. The outer glass is what broke. This is a laptop lent to her by their school. So she's trying to get it repaired for cheaper in case the school tries to make her pay for the whole laptop.

I can't see the laptop in my hands, we live in different states. But does anyone know if their are replacement glass? or does it have to come with a whole screen. I know it's laptop specific on what you can and can't replace.

Not quite sure which questions to ask. I hope i made it clear enough.

maybe the following will answer your question. just to note, I am not recommending them, just using them as reference. there is also a video for screen replacement.

Yes,

You can replace the damaged screen.

Here's a video on doing it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5q8TB3bk_GY&app=desktop

The company LS that renegade600 recommends, has the lowest price on a replacement LCD screen.

Just make sure the model numbers on the new replacement screen, match the old one.
