Smile Processor Upgrade

Hello,,

I want to upgrade my old pc's processor from intel celeron 1.7ghz to intel pentium4 3.2 ghz...

my Mother board spec.
- Asrock m266a
- FSB@533mhz
- Socket 478

is there any problem i will encounter later?? pls help...

The max you can put into your motherboard would be a 3.06 CPU with 533 FSB.

A system that old
Its time to get a new system
S478 cpus are hard to come by new, and the ones at 3.06GHz are probably quite expensive
i doubt it would be a match for even the entry level CPUs of today (say the Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200)

If you already have a new system
I'd leave that old one alone

before you upgrade your system try to check the manual of your motherboard to check what processors are compatible on it.
