OK He said HD failing, HD can be cloned. OS is damaged, uncertain about other hardware.
MB freaked out when HD failed. Won't boot into windows. Replace HD, reload OS min $363

That's what he told her.

Seems like a lot of money, and he's not sure if that's all that is wrong.
Hey Murf what do you think?

Supposedly this person built it. Hard drive failing would not screw the motherboard, thatís hard to believe.i think they are taking them for a ride. Hard drive bad clusters would screw the operating system and cause boot problems.

So no mention of the power supply

I agree Murf. I wonder if he is charging for that diagnosis, but if he’s not I would find another computer repair shop to take it to. For what he wants to charge to “maybe” fix it for about another $150 a brand new name brand computer could be bought.

I thought it sounded weird that he said the HD caused problem with MB also. I'm going to pass your suggestion on to her. Thanks for your thoughts.

Hey Kuzzz
Please let us know how things go with the computer. I hope he doesn't charge your friend too much for coming up with that half assed diagnosis.
