Cheapest Deal for Windows 7?

Hello everyone!

I have an old Dell Inspiron E1705 running on Xp that I want to upgrade to Windows 7. I missed a deal from my university which should have cost me only $50! Aurgh!

Where can I safely get Windows 7 64-bit for a good deal?

Thanks!

I have bought 2 keys from them, located in Europe. They send you a key, you download the ISO, which you can find on Microsoft site. Burn to DVD, use thier key.

I bought Windows 7 Home Basic, the Windows 8. Both activated, downloaded all updates from MS and says it is genuine copy.

I don't guarantee this place but both I bought worked great. From what I can tell its legal place os business.

Wow! Thanks!

Will my payment information be safe? And, which Windows 7 version would be good for me? Will this be a fresh install? I would feel bad to lose my old Office 2007 though but maybe I could live with OpenOffice... I think!

I would email them, pretty responsive ask the price if you purchased both Windows Home Premium and Office, might give you a break. I 1st bought Windows 7 home premium, the they sent me an email saying they would give me 50% off my next purchase, then I got Windows 8.

They advertise an extra $5 for the download link, but I already had an ISO, but when the key arrived by email, it included the download link.
i used Paypal and this was about 2 months ago, have not had any problems.

Few more questions..

I have read that if you use the XP mode on Windows 7, my computer will be vulnerable as XP is already not supported. Is this true?

And, how do I install Windows 7 from an iso?

If you paid for Office 2007, and have a installation CD/DVD for it then there's no reason you can't keep on using it on Windows 7.

This laptop was my wife's back in 2006. She purchased Office 2007 through her university and does not remember if she was given an installation DVD. I suspect that it was a download.

If you have the Product Key, and it was a download then the setup file that was downloaded may still be on the hard drive. Take a look in Downloads to see if it's there.

Not in the downloads folder anymore. I cleaned up when I upgraded my hard drive. Is there a way that I can find my product key? But still... I don't have an installer...

Use belarc it will give you the key.

http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
When you download a ISO, which is a image file you will need a burning program to burn the file to a DVD, a good free one is;

http://www.imgburn.com/

A free and simple one to use.

Were you able to find the Product key for Office 2007 by using Belarc?
It's too bad that the setup file wasn't saved to a DVD. I don't know if Microsoft will supply you with the setup file if you have proof that you paid for Office 2007. Maybe Murf can point you in the right direction.
