lang.? missing

The tital says it all. I installed a game for my mother and i get this error when we go to play it. It goes through the install without any issues and then all of a sudden i get when i go to play it says lang.? missing. So i go to the command promp and make sure all path and file names are correct before i do this. I search for lang.* and get nothing. I change to go deeper in to a different dirrectory and i get the same thing nomatter where i looked. So fineally i thought to myself that the cd was simply missing the file. So we returned the cd and exchanged it. I then removed the program and reinstalled and the same thing happened.
