Uncheck everything but the Net Framework and see if they install.

Ok I did that and all those 7 other Net Framework ones installed properly

Did you reboot first before trying the other ones? Appears Windows installer works fine and it did install the Net framework.

Hmmm, did you recently install a new harddrive?

There's been a problem around a few years having to do with Advanced Format Disks and Microsoft has a hotfix for it here. You might see if that helps. More info here.

no , no new hard drive. a few months ago i reinstalled windows 7 though...

Baffled.. May want to try and install each update one by one by finding the update by KB number at MS site. -not using MS update site.

they did not work. after they don't install i get the blue screen saying "configuring windows updates" and it stays stuck at 15%..

Wow I am really baffled, since it works for some and not others,

hey everyone, i wanted to let you know that sony has sent me factory settings boot discs and i ran these now windows updates work fine. i do want to thank you guys for the help though with this case. this is a great forum with a great community. thank you!
