Question Storage Controller Driver...

Hello, this is my first post. I have a problem with one of my device drivers. Under device manager, in storage controllers; AYKXP31L IDE Controller, "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)." Please Help. It is not harming anything and everything still works fine but it is annoying me to see there is something wrong.

Hi Fletchie and welcome. Have you installed/uninstalled Nero or any similar software recently?

Here's what happens. The Daemon Tools/Alcohol driver, sptd.sys drops an eight letter randomly named file, for example C:\System32\Drivers\aohb06jq.sys and after loading, deletes it from the disk. I dont use this software so I have no idea how compatible it is with W7.

Try uninstalling Daemon Tools/Alcohol, reboot and if the entry for the driver is still present in Device Manager, uninstall it and reboot again. That should get rid of it.
