Why do two devices connected to the same network have such varying degrees of speed?

Good day all,

I'm using my computer and my galaxy tab connected to the same network through wifi at exactly the same distance from the router through but when I run the speed test on both, with the computer I get 26 Mbps download while on the tablet I only get 2.61 Mbps download. Why such a gap in two devices that are both on the same network, both can access dual band... What should I be looking at?

Thanks

they are two different devices with different wifi hardware in different locations at different times. of course the speed is going to be different.

reminds me a couple of years ago I was not getting any wifi outside. Moving the router two inches made the difference. went from no wif to three bars.

They're not in different locations. Both are at the same distance from the router. Exactly next to one another. But I understand that the wifi hardware would make a difference, I didn't think the gap would be that wide tho.

Connecting at 2.4G or 5G, are both devices connecting the same?
