Question Trash Problem / .DS Store Icon

I have tried using the Tra**** program, tried Terminal, but am unable to empty my Trash. I have the latest Mac OS. Can anyone help me with this?
I also tried downloading OnyX, but it says I need a password and my Macbook doesn't use a password.

Also, how do I get rid of the .DS store icon on my desktop?

Thanks for any help!

If you restart, you should be able to empty the trash. Or choose "Secure Empty Trash" from the Finder menu.

If you see the .ds_store files on your Mac, you've done something which allows invisible files to be seen. You should not ever see a .ds_store file on a local hard drive unless you've asked to see them.

You really should set a password. Even if it's a simple password. Not setting a password can cause problems, as you're discovering.
