Using disc clean up won't delete Compress O S Files 6.5gb

Compress O S Files is ticked in Disc clean up but won't remove it to save 6.5 gb space on my small drive.I've tried it twice ut it still remains ,the tick came up against that file automatically.,am I trying to do the impossible? I have a small drive as I only want to use C drive for my OS saving anything big on an external drive.

Won't remove what? IOW, what is "it"?

Sorry for the confusion ,the it is "Compress O S Files",it's ticked in the Disc cleanup as being deleted. it takes up 6.5 gb of space.
PS What does IOW mean

SpywareDr February 10th, 2019 07:20 PM

My guess would be that is how big the OS files are after compression.

my question is,why can't I delete it?

SpywareDr February 10th, 2019 08:38 PM

If you delete it, you delete part of the Windows operating system.
